Access to Documents and the Protection of Personal Information

The right of access to documents and personal information
The Act respecting Access to documents held by public bodies and the Protection of personal information recognizes the right of citizens to have access to documents and personal information about them and to correct personal information if it is incomplete, inaccurate, or misleading or if the collection, release or keeping of information about them is not authorized by law.

To exercise your right of access or correction of personal information, you must send a written request by mail or fax to the person in charge of access to documents and the protection of personal information.

Release of information
The Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) is required to release information and documents provided under the Regulation respecting the distribution of information and the protection of personal information. This requirement is part of the Government's ongoing efforts toward transparency.

Note: The SAAQ's administrative documents are available in French only, unless otherwise indicated. Other documents will be added over the course of the year.
