Operation Red Nose

As part of its accident prevention mandate, the Société de l'assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) supports various road safety initiatives, and as such, has been the primary sponsor for Operation Red Nose since 1985. In 2008, the SAAQ signed a five-year agreement with this organization for a total value of two million dollars.

Operation Red Nose, with its renowned volunteer drive-home service, contributes significantly to public awareness about impaired driving by encouraging everyone to plan for a way to get home safely during the holiday season. With a twist of humour, it calls upon drivers to use a designated driver, a taxi, public transit, a friend who has not consumed alcohol, in other words, to find an alternative to driving while impaired.
