Road Safety

Safety Tips

As a motorist, you are responsible for driving safely. You should therefore keep the following safety rules in mind:

  • Turn off your phone before you get behind the wheel and let your voice mail take your calls.
  • If you absolutely have to use your phone, pull over first to a location where you are allowed to do so, for your own safety and that of others. For example:
    • on the side of a road where the maximum speed limit is less than 70 km/h;
    • in a parking lot;
    • in a service area.
  • Remember that, except in an emergency, no one is allowed to bring their vehicle to a stop on the shoulder of a highway or on a highway entrance or exit ramp.
  • You can also ask passengers in the vehicle to answer or make a call for you.
