Permanent Provincial Network for the Inspection of Child Safety Seats

Check Your Child's Car Seat!

In partnership with CAA-Québec, the SAAQ has created a permanent network to inspect child car seats:

• Appointments can be made year-round throughout Québec;
• Inspection and installation are free of charge (some garages may charge a nominal fee) and are performed by qualified individuals who have received special training.

Consult the list of network members available in your administrative region and schedule an appointment!

If a child car seat has already been installed:

• A specialist will check if a child is seated in the right type of child car seat for his or her height and weight.
• A specialist will then check if the child car seat is being used properly, more specifically that it is firmly anchored on the back seat of the vehicle and that the child is properly restrained.

If you would like a seat to be installed:

• Be sure to indicate you would like a seat to be installed when you make an appointment. If a member of the network cannot install a seat for you, you will be referred to another organization that can do this for you.
