How to Wear a Helmet

Under the law, the helmet you wear must always be properly adjusted and securely fastened with a chin strap.

To correctly adjust a helmet, the top of your head should touch the top inside padding of the helmet.

The helmet should not slide back and forth when you move your head with the chin strap fastened.

The helmet should show no signs of alteration or deterioration on the inside or outside. If your helmet has undergone an impact, the shell or padding may have been damaged, even if there are no visible signs of damage. A helmet that has undergone an impact should be replaced.

The colour of the helmet you choose should be clearly visible. Reflective material can be added to the sides and back of the helmet. Before adding this type of material, however, consult the helmet manufacturer's manual.
