As of April 2008, if a driver is found guilty of an excessive speeding offence, the offence remains on the individual's driving record for a reference period of 10 years. This means that a driver who commits one or more excessive speeding offences within 10 years of a previous conviction will receive a harsher penalty.
Driving Record
As with any other Highway Safety Code offence, demerit points for excessive speeding remain on your driving record for 2 years following the date of conviction or payment of a fine. Payment of a fine is equivalent to a conviction.
