Speeding is one of the two main causes of road accidents. In order to raise awareness among 16- to 24 year-olds about the consequences of speeding, the SAAQ is broadcasting two French-language messages. The information can be summarized as follows: speeding can really cost you – financially, legally, or (sadly too often) even in terms of human life.
The first message, 2 minutes long and broadcast on the Web, is new this year. It starts by showing speeding, which looks awesome. But when we see a young driver once he's pulled over by the police, we see that the consequences of being stopped for a second time for excessive speeding are not awesome.
The second message, 2 and a half minutes long and broadcast on the Web, is also new. Speeding at night might seem cool. But when we see the scene of an accident, we see the tragic consequences for the three young people in the vehicle. Two girls, their friends, are crying at the scene of the accident.
