A: No, the SAAQ does not automatically adjust compensation awards received by public or parapublic sector employees.

Q4: Who may be affected?
A: Anyone who has received an income replacement indemnity or death benefit in connection with an accident that has occurred since November 21, 2001.

Q5: If a victim is deceased, will his or her estate be entitled to receive monies owned by the SAAQ?
A: Yes, if a victim is deceased, his or her estate will be entitled to monies owned by the SAAQ.

Q6: When will adjustments of compensation awards take effect?
A: Effective the date of the accident after November 21, 2001.

Q7: Is interest paid on monies owed?
A: Yes, interest will be paid at the same rate as Québec savings bonds.

A: For each accident, see “Procedure to follow”.

Q9: If the SAAQ awards me an amount following an income adjustment, is this amount taxable?
