In Québec, a Class 6E licence authorizes its holder to operate a three-wheeled motorcycle, not equipped with a sidecar, with the following characteristics:
The Class 6E licence also authorizes its holder to operate any two-wheeled motorcycle on which is mounted a converter kit made of a metal structure as well as a pair of auxiliary wheels aligned with the rear wheel axis of the motorcycle.
Holders of a Class 6A, 6B or 6C probationary licence or driver's licence may drive a three-wheeled motorcycle. Holders of a Class 6A learner's licence must be accompanied to drive any motorcycle (two- or three-wheeled).
Holders of a Class 5 driver's licence (passenger vehicle) may drive a three-wheeled motorcycle if they get the 6E licence class.
Holders of a Class 5 learner's licence or probationary licence only cannot obtain a Class 6E licence.
You must meet the following criteria:
To retain the privilege of driving a three-wheeled motorcycle, you must hold a valid Class 5 driver's licence.
Please note that holding a Class 5 and 6E driver's licence does not authorize you to accompany the holder of a learner's licence driving a motorcycle.
Once you have passed the course, you are required to mail a copy of the attestation issued by the driving school to:

The SAAQ will then mail you a collection notice indicating the amount of the insurance contribution you are required to pay and a Class 6E attestation, Be sure to keep this attestation with your Class 5 driver's licence. It is valid for the same period as your Class 5 driver's licence.
The SAAQ will send you a collection notice for the renewal of your Class 6E licence within a few months after sending you a payment notice for renewal of your Class 5 licence. The attestation authorizing you to drive a three-wheeled motorcycle will still be valid even if it has not been paid at the same time as your Class 5 licence.
For free replacement of your attestation authorizing you to drive a three-wheeled motorcycle, you must apply in writing. You must state that you wish to replace the 6E licence class, write your name, your file number and the date, then sign it, and mail or fax the document to:

To relinquish a Class 6E licence, you must return your Class 6E attestation to the SAAQ. To do so, you must check the appropriate box, sign and date the attestation and using the return envelope, mail it to:

To obtain a Class 6E licence again after relinquishing it, apply to the SAAQ by mail only at:

You will then receive a collection notice indicating the amount of the insurance contribution you are required to pay and a Class 6E attestation will be sent to you once the payment has been received.
An English translation of the information that appears on the attestation is available on request.
If you plan on travelling outside of Québec with your three-wheeled motorcycle, it is your responsibility to make sure this attestation is recognized in the province or state you will be travelling in.
