For New Residents of Québec Eligible for Licence Exchange, but with Testing

Passenger vehicle

If you held a passenger vehicle driver's licence for at least a year before you moved to Québec, you can get a passenger vehicle driver's licence on passing the Québec knowledge and road tests.

Motorcycle

Even if your licence authorized you to drive a motorcycle in your country of origin, you are required to pass all the SAAQ skill tests to obtain the equivalent Québec licence.

Other vehicles

For other vehicles that you want to drive, you must first get a Québec passenger vehicle driver's licence. Then, follow the procedure for Québec residents. To find out the steps, consult the section on Québec driver's licence classes and select the class of licence you want to get.
