Driver's Licence

Getting a Class 6R Learner's Licence

To get this licence, you must first pass the SAAQ's knowledge test. You must prepare for the knowledge test independently and seriously. It is important that you pay particular attention to it.

To acquire the theoretical knowledge relevant to operating a motorcycle and to prepare for the knowledge test, it is recommended that you:

  • Study the Operating a Motorcycle guide;

    The test covers the first three chapters only. The other sections contain complementary information that will not be on the test. Assess your understanding of the different concepts regarding riding a motorcycle by completing the exercises in the guide.

  • Read the Driver’s Handbook.

    This will help you to refresh your memory or learn new things.
    If you do not hold a Class 5 licence at the time of the knowledge test, you will have to answer questions about traffic regulations and road signs and signals.

An online quiz on riding a motorcycle is available. Take the test!
