Before Lending or Renting Your Vehicle

If you lend or rent your vehicle to an individual who does not hold a valid driver's licence or who does not hold the appropriate class of licence, your vehicle may be seized and impounded for 30 days. To prevent this from happening, the SAAQ provides an online sevice and an automated response system to verify if a driver's licence is valid. This service also allows you to ensure that the driver's licence corresponds to the class of vehicle to be driven.
