Definition of a Three-Wheeled Motorcycle

Under the Regulation respecting licences, a three-wheeled motorcycle is a motorcycle that is not equipped with a sidecar and has the following characteristics:

  • It is designed to move on 3 wheels in contact with the ground;
  • It is designed so that its wheels remain perpendicular to the road in curves;
  • It is equipped with seats that occupants must straddle; and
  • It does not have a structure partially or entirely concealing the driver and passenger, except the part in front of the driver and the seat backrest.

Any two-wheeled motorcycle on which a conversion kit has been installed, composed of a metal structure and a pair of auxiliary wheels aligned on the axle of the motorcycle’s back wheel.
