Identity theft occurs when another person uses your personal information, such as your name, address, driver’s licence number or registration certificate number, without your knowledge.

If someone has used your identity:

  1. Immediately file a report with your local police force.
  2. Check the state of your driving record by using our online service or by calling usThis link will open a new window..

If your personal file at the SAAQ has been affected, forward the following documents to the SAAQ:

  • a copy of the report of the event, duly completed and signed by the police officer who took the report, or the event number;
  • a copy of the documents you provided when you filed the police report.
