Dealer Plates (X Licence Plate)


- A removable licence plate that is affixed to a trailer or trailer chassis owned by a dealer or manufacturer when these vehicles are pulled without carrying a load.
- A removable licence plate used to transport road vehicles on a flatbed truck or under their own power. Vehicles that are transported in this manner must not carry a load other than road vehicles in the same category.
- Removable licence plate affixed to a vehicle that is loaned by a dealer, a manufacturer or auto body repair shop, to replace a vehicle that is sold or under repair or to demonstrate its condition of operation or performance. The vehicle that is sold or under repair must not be covered by the requirement to have a permit from the Commission des transports du Québec.
A small X licence plate is used by a dealer, manufacturer or auto body repair shop to move road vehicles with a net weight of 500 kg or less.
