I take pride and pleasure in inviting you to Montréal for T 2002.
With alcohol and drug-impaired driving being major causes in road crashes, the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec as insurer is particularly interested in work done on the subject around the world. Québec's automobile insurance corporation has also been given the task of keeping statistics, doing research and developing strategy for action on road safety. The SAAQ's mission is to insure and protect people from the risks inherent in use of the road. As host, we will spare no effort in making the 16th International Conference on Alcohol, Drugs and Traffic Safety a unique and profitable experience.
The International Council on Alcohol, Drugs and Traffic Safety (ICADTS) is an independent organization working to reduce the morbidity and mortality resulting from traffic accidents involving the misuse of alcohol and drugs. The Council particularly encourages scientific investigation of the role of alcohol and drugs in the causes and consequences of traffic accidents.
