From Novembre 27 to January 4, police officers will conduct intensive roadside checks throughout the province to target alcohol and drug-impaired driving. The SAAQ encourages you to be vigilant and to plan alternatives for getting home.

Good News for Accident Victims Regarding the Reimbursement of Medication
In collaboration with the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ), the Société de l’assurance automobile du Québec (SAAQ) has implemented a new service that will make life a lot simpler for road accident victims.
Driver’s Licences Now Valid for up to 8 Years
On October 1, 2014, the SAAQ gradually began increasing the validity periods of newly issued driver’s licences from 4 to 8 years. For more information, see our list of frequently asked questions about driver’s licences.
True or False: You can be arrested and convicted under the Criminal Code if your ability to drive is compromised by drugs or other medication.
Penalties are provided under the Criminal Code for impaired driving, regardless of the substance involved, i.e. alcohol, drugs, or other medication.
